Suvi Kemppainen is an internationally working choreographer, dancer, performer, and performance maker. Kemppainen’s artistic works are deeply embedded in their movement and performance practice around embodied knowledge, immaterial ownership, and fantastic psychopoetic corporeality. After graduating as a dancer from North Karelia College Outokumpu in Finland Suvi Kemppainen continued their choreography studies at the University of Arts Berlin HZT, graduating in 2019. Their works have been presented at the Ateneum Art Museum in Helsinki, Contemporary Art Space Kutomo in Turku, Sophiensaele in Berlin and at the Zodiak Center for New Dance in Helsinki. Alongside their stage works, Suvi Kemppainen teaches morning classes and facilitates workshops for professional dance makers and art believers. Suvi works with a wide network of international artists, engaging in collaborative projects, critical dialogue, and research-driven artistic processes. Suvi Kemppainen is also a qualified clinical supervisor and mentor facilitating reflective processes and professional development for practitioners in the cultural field and beyond.
